Artist Statement

Where are we going, what is it leading to?

Within this exposé, we will begin to examine the relationship between physical doorways and how they represent the transition between the daunting nail-biting sense of nervousness versus excitement towards the movement towards the unknown. These photos should ask questions to the viewer, such as: Why are these pictures here, What do these pictures contribute to the global sense of fear and unknowingness right now, and how this will affect everything from people’s emotions to global financial markets at a time of so much unbalance and strenuousness in today’s modern globalized world.

 

When I began to feel around in my headspace for inspiration as to the content of this project, I found the most daunting concern in my mind to be the current sense of global strenuousness and nervousness that is so prevalent for any person with an internet capable device. I want my assemblage of work to examine these thoughts and guide the viewer into experiencing a similar sensation of awe, disbelief, fear, and wonder.
